Why do I need Opentrack? Isn't this guide for FaceTrackNoIR, not for Opentrack?
We need Opentrack because of the 64-bit DLL required for FaceTrackNoIR to work on 64-bit ETS2.
Opentrack download[github.com]
Download the .exe (scroll down a bit until the 'Downloads' section).
After you've downloaded both of the programs, install them and make sure they are in different directories. Don't just speed through the installation.
64-bit DLL
Navigate to the folder where you installed Opentrack (not FaceTrackNoIR).
Open the subfolder "modules" and locate the file "NPClient64.dll" and copy it (don't paste it anywhere yet).
Once you have copied the .dll, navigate to the folder where you installed FaceTrackNoIR.
Locate the 'NPClient64.dll' file and rename it to, for example 'NPClient64-backup.dll' (make sure you know how you named it incase something went wrong).
Now you can paste the 'NPClient64.dll' from Opentrack into the FaceTrackNoIR folder.
Setting up FaceTrackNoIR
FaceTrackNoIR installation may not create a desktop shortcut. If it doesn't, navigate to where you installed it, right-click on the FaceTrackNoIR.exe and click "Send to > Desktop (create shortcut)".
First time starting FaceTrackNoIR
When you start FaceTrackNoIR for the first time, it will look something like this (webcam model may differ):
Setting up FaceTrackNoIR face tracking
You can either download my configuration from {LINK REMOVED}here and put it into the FaceTrackNoIR directory into the Settings folder. You can tweak it if it doesn't suit you.
Setting it up
In order for face tracking to work, your face needs to be well-lit and the webcam has to be centered on your face. If it's a bit off, it will still work.
Click on Settings, and make sure FreeTrack protocol is selected.
Make sure "Start dummy TrackIR.exe" is ticked and under "Select interface", select "Use TrackIR, hide FreeTrack".
Click the "Curves" button, and you can tweak how much you move your head for how much the camera moves in-game.
Here are my settings (curves & translations):
Compatibility with ATS
This should work with ATS too, I haven't tried it out but it should.
There's even more?
No, there isn't. Thanks for reading this guide!
If you have any questions, comments or anything else, feel free to comment down below.
If it's a question, I'll try to answer as fast as possible.
Happy head tracking! xD
If you did everything correctly and the camera still doesn't move in-game, make sure "uset g_trackir" is set to "uset g_trackir 1" in Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/config.cfg
